The RL 206 SN is a 2-way directional loudspeaker with supercardioid pattern for targeted acoustic irradiation in rooms with difficult acoustics. By means of the strong directionality in the entire frequency range the RL 206 SN largely concentrates the sound radiation on the listening zone and only stimulates the reverberation caused by reflections from walls and ceiling to a minimum extent. In this way it is even possible to achieve a pure reproduction and high intelligibility in rooms with a high reverberation period.
For music reproduction, additional subwoofers should be employed to compensate for the limited low bass reproduction of the RL 206 SN resulting from its operating principle. Very good results are obtained with the RL 206 SN in theatre applications – the arrangement of two RL 206 SN to the left and right of the stage permits the problem-free operation of microphones with minimum feedback. As a supplement in the bass range we recommend the subwoofer SUB 40 A or SUB 80 A.
