Description The RL 206 SN A is an active 2-way directional loudspeaker with supercardioid pattern for targeted acoustic irradiation in rooms with difficult acoustics. By means of the strong directionality in the entire frequency range the RL 206 SN A largely concentrates the sound radiation on the listening zone and only stimulates the reverberation caused by reflections from walls and ceiling to a minimum extent. In this way it is even possible to achieve a pure reproduction and high intelligibility in rooms with high reverberation times. For music reproduction, additional subwoofers should be employed to compensate for the limited low bass reproduction of the RL 206 SN A resulting from its operating principle. Very good results are obtained with the RL 206 SN A in theatre applications – the arrangement of two RL 206 SN A to the left and right of the stage permits the problem-free operation of microphones with minimum feedback. The woofers are driven by a 200-watt class-D amplifier, the tweeter by a 80-watt D-Mos amplifier. The switchable 50 /110 Hz low-cut filter makes it possible to operate the RL 206 SN A either as full-range speaker or as a top unit with additional subwoofers. As a supplement in the bass range we recommend the subwoofer SUB 40 (A) or SUB 80 (A).
